a Fistful of Gun playable builds.

This is my little homage to shooters such as Gun.Smoke that I played as a kid.  Enjoy!

Download a Fistful of Gun 0.42

To remap your controls, just edit config.ini in the root directory, use this table to find the ASCII codes.  If you would like a steam key for the future builds, hit me up at @farmergnome on twitter, I will do some giveaways shortly!

Edit:  Here is a Wallpaper I painted for the game, the link below is  to the 1920x1080 version.  I have been hard at work on a follow up version whenever I find the time, more details shortly!

    2. That is because you only extracted the EXE. You will need all those other folders and files in the zip otherwise your key input for keyboard wont function, and the music wont work....

  8. These games looks so awesome that you make! But in the future, if you put these out on Steam or Origin or whatever(I don't have an opinion if that's a good thing or not(maybe if you are making the CO-OP thingy over internet it would be nice to invite Steam-friends and all that good stuff))I hope you don't add new weapons or other items in the game that will cost real money. Can't wait for the full release of the game!

    1. You use the right analog stick, and flick them forward, kind of like in a pistol motion.

    3. Ahh bugger, I have only tested it with 360 controllers as that's all I own / can't afford another controller right now.

    4. I cant even get it to work with a 360 controller emulator ;(

    5. Hmm hopefully pretty soon I will have some extra cash to get a few no name controllers to test with the improved fistful version - and be able to debug the problem... kinda saving for a new tablet right now though.

  11. Any chance of releasing the source code under GPL? That way, we could probably handle porting ourselves.

    1. It could be possible, I am working on an improved version now and hoping to get it working on mac/linux at some point. I didn't really predict it would be this popular TBH.

    2. And not just that. Opening the source could also motivate people to port the game to a lot of handheld devices and a myriad of less common OSes (BSD, Haiku, MorphOS, etc). Adam Saltsman did that with Canabalt a while ago, and apparently the results were quite positive.

    3. It is a cool idea, but for the next month or two, my focus will be getting a improved version out, then I may consider it, we shall see.

  12. @Stelabouras:

I asked the same question of Paul to his Twitter today, before realising he'd answered it already, above! Doh.

"Fistful was made in MMF2 developer."

  14. this is an AMAZING game!!! fantastic work. One question though. I am having difficulty playing the game on a gamepad. I can walk around, and shoot up and down, but cannot shoot in any other direction. I am using a PS3 controller with the DS3 tool from MotionInJoy

  16. Hey, your games are awesome. I really love the art style and pixel art. I'm an upcoming developer and would really like to know where to start.

    1. Start by making games :) Pick up any tool you feel comfortable with (if you cant program I would recommend MMF2 or game maker, if you can, Unity is great) and start making and more importantly releasing games, even if they suck, you will get tons of great feedback. Hit me up on my twitter if you need to know anything specific and I will be happy to help.

  18. Im struggling to record this game...fraps doesnt seem to like it in full screen. Any ideas guys (gals) I'd like to give the game a bit of exposure and well, just record me playing the game

    1. Hmm I am not sure I would know, I use a capture card to record footage, MMF2 usually is pretty slow to record in hardware mode for some reason, esp full screen.

  19. Hey man, awesome game :D I have an issue though ; whenever I play, I only have 3 seconds to pick who I want to play, so can you make that unlimited please :D Also, when I pick a guy, for some reason I also get the pistoleer on screen, who I can't control and just chills there :P What programming language did you make the game in, and roughly how long did it take you to make the game? Thanks! :D

  22. Great game as I said on twitter and reddit! I want to play with my brother and another friend and I can't make the controller work, It only works with the left joystick so the player moves, anyways, good luck sorting that out, maybe try to make a settings menu where you can change your controller keys :)
